As the Holidays roll around, and the pace of life seems to get even more hectic for some, I like to challenge people to think about this: Are you happy being? Or are you happy doing?
For many years I was happy doing, doing, doing. I was doing so much that if one event in my day didn’t go as planned, it sent me into a tailspin. What eventually happened was that all my doing exhausted me and I began to resent having to do almost anything. As I started to balance out my personality I explored ways of being that did not require “doing” anything. This experience opened my eyes to a whole new world. Not only did I start to crave doing a lot less, I actually found that I enjoyed life a lot more by doing less. In addition, as I got better at being, I decided I will no longer do what I do not want to do. It is that simple. The reason? I have found that if I “force”myself to do something I don’t want to do, it has an adverse effect on my being. Since I strive for being peace, love and joy I have no choice but to do only what supports this…with apologies to nobody.
I encourage you to ponder this concept of being versus doing. What balance works for you? Honor your voice. I support you 1000%!
